Satoko Inoue is renowned as a leading interpreter of contemporary solo piano music. She completed the master's course in composition at Tokyo Gakugei University and later became a member of Musica Practica Ensemble. After leaving the ensemble, she began her solo activity in 1991. Her repertoire includes the works of Jo Kondo, Morton Feldman, John Cage and Luc Ferrari, as well as works by Japanese composers. Not limited to Japan, her activities have expanded worldwide with guest appearances at international contemporary music festivals; solo recitals in Europe, North and South America and the Middle East; and master classes at various universities. Satoko Inoue has recorded solo CDs on HatHut Records (Switzerland), Edition Hundertmark (Germany), Emec Discos (Spain) and ALM Records (Japan). She is a professor of piano at Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo.
