Tokyo-based violin/viola player Yoko Ikeda began her classical violin studies at an early age. In her mid-twenties she started performing with bands, later discovering improvised music. While her current activities are centered on improvisation, she is also a member of the Suidobashi Chamber Ensemble, which performs contemporary experimental compositions.
